Time Lapse - Southeast Alaska - August 2007
This time lapse footage was taken as an exercise in mid August 2007 using my Nikon Coolpix S3. The sunsets were shot from False Outer Point on Douglas Island, Idaho Inlet on Chichagof Island, and the roof top of the Emporium Mall in downtown Juneau.

I think that time lapse is a cinematography technique. The effect of time lapse changes will occur slowly and create a smooth impression of motion in the picture. it will be very easy to handle. We can make all the pictures like that and we can get a lovable picture.

Did we shoot some time lapse last winter? I'm not sure where that is?
Did anyone ever see that music video with the girl walking around in slow motion wearing an aviator helmet? It was sped up so she moved at normal speed and everything else moved fast. Hmm.. I want to make a film like that.
The last 2 clips are really good. I like that the wind was really coherent in them, it gives me the impression that the earth is spinning, which it is... Oh no my mind has been blown!
Didn't we shoot some time lapse stuff with the older video camera in the middle of winter last year? Did that turn out? Probably not quite as good, there was obviously much more setup for these ones.
Nice little film. Nostalgic. I liked the Raymond Scott style electronic music soundtrack. Good work team Alaska robotics!
I'm glad its clear down there for you. Its usually snowing or raining here during lunar happenings.
It is amazing to see. The moon is red! My camera won't do it justice (Nikon CoolPix 5600) but I'm sure there will be some amazing photos taken tonight.
